Hello! I'm Ali the CEO of Sequoia Baking Co. For as long as I could remember I wanted to own a bakery. I've been producing these gooey buns from my home kitchen for years and the time has come to take a leap of faith and officially take my operation to a physical location!
OUR STORY
In 2010 Ali started baking out of her home kitchen to help alleviate some of the fees associated with being in the Marching Band at Braddock High School. She quickly fell in love with the hobby.
Between 2010-2018 she perfected her recipes and would take all kinds of orders. Sugar cookies to fondant three-tired cakes. She worked a full time job and stayed up late baking. She always dreamt of the possibility of a bakery in the future.
In 2019 while listening to one of her favorite songs, Seasons by Hillsong, she heard the lyrics, "From seed to Sequoia" and in an instant SEQUOIA was born. She fell in love with the meaning. Every dream, even those the size of a sequoia tree starts with a small seed.
In 2019 we filled as a Limited Liability Company and launched the first ever gourmet bun shop out of our home kitchen. Still working a full time job, we were only able to deliver these gooey buns on Saturday mornings.
In 2020 we outgrew our kitchen and had to stop production as COVID-19 spread. It was time to re-strategize and hope that someday soon we would be back - in a big way!
Present Day - In 2021 we've been given the opportunity of a lifetime. Working in a physical location as well as working to launch with Uber Eats. There are expenses associated with taking this leap of faith and we are asking for your help in bringing this dream to life! Our expenses include commercial sized mixers, warmers, and other supply to ensure we are producing quality buns and are ready to embrace our beautiful Miami with its latest gooey dessert.
